Davids rounds out congressional staff hires

U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids has put the finishing touches on her staff, announcing the members of her congressional team on Monday.

“I’m pleased to welcome such a talented group of individuals to our team who share my commitment to helping the people of Kansas,” Davids said in a statement.

Here’s Davids’ staff:

Brandon Naylor, legislative director in the Washington office. A Topeka High School and University of Kansas graduate, Naylor worked for former Congressman Dennis Moore and current U.S. Rep. David Cicilline of Illinois. He joins Davids’ office after four years at Democracy Works Inc., a nonprofit, nonpartisan voting organization. 

Christina Jones, operations director in the Washington office. Jones is leaving the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, where she served as director of the chairman’s office during the 2018 election cycle. She previously worked for former U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and on the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. 

Kyle Klemp, constituent services manager in the district office. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and previously worked in the regional offices of former U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri. 

Kate Rohr, legislative assistant in the Washington office. A Johnson County native, she will handle the Small Business Committee work, health care and several other issues. She previously served as legislative assistant to former Congressman Tim Walz of Minnesota.

Coletta Hummel, constituent services and outreach representative in the district office. Hummel has a master’s degree in intercultural service, leadership and management from the School of International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont. She also has a bachelor’s in psychology and women’s and gender studies from the University of Missouri. She worked as transformation consultant and product developer for Action Pact, which aims to make nursing homes and assisted-living communities friendlier places to live.

Venetia Washington, constituent services and outreach representative in the district office. She studied at Johnson County Community College before working in medical customer service and on the Davids congressional campaign.   

Paula Cutter-Mark, constituent services and outreach representative in the district office. She graduated from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., with a degree in history and worked as a site director for the Learning Club, an after-school tutoring program in Kansas City, Kan., before volunteering for the Davids congressional campaign. She also has worked as a paraprofessional for 13 years in the Blue Valley School District. 

Leslie Zukrow, staff assistant in the district office. She is a first-generation graduate of the University of Kansas College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and a Wyandotte County resident.  

Ebony Germany, staff assistant in the Washington office. She was born and raised in Wyandotte County. She attended Washington High School and graduated from the University of Kansas.
