Governor signs bill relinquishing some appointments to wildlife commission

Gov. Laura Kelly on Friday signed a bill giving up her power to appoint all the members of Wildlife and Parks Commission, which had become the center of controversy over deer baiting and accusations that it's dysfunctional and lacks a diversity of thought.

It was among several bills that the governor signed that provide new protections for people with intellectual disabilities and ease up on driver's license restrictions so Kansans can still drive as they pay fees that they owe.

Without comment, Kelly signed into law a SSJ
