Crouse nomination advances over Feinstein opposition

Kansas Solicitor General Toby Crouse's nomination to the federal bench advanced to the full U.S. Senate on Thursday morning but not without a rebuke from Democratic U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 12-10 along party lines to send Crouse's nomination to the full Senate.

The committee approved Crouse's nomination after Feinstein criticized his defense of state laws that cut Planned Parenthood off from Medicaid funding and the state's proof-of-citizenship requirement for registering to vote.
