County official accused of using government supplies to print campaign fliers

The state ethics commission is bringing a complaint against a county official for reportedly using government equipment and supplies to print campaign fliers.

The commission on Wednesday found probable cause to move ahead with a complaint against Irma Alaniz, the registrar of deeds in Meade County.

The complaint alleges that Allaniz used a copier and printer paper in the Meade County appraiser's office to print campaign fliers, which read "RE-ELECT IRMA ALANIZ FOR REGISTER OF DEEDS."

The informant who filed the complaint notified the ethics commission that Meade County's information technology staff examined the copier and determined . . .
