The Corrections Department is undertaking a reorganization that includes a new unit dedicated to research and behavior analytics and the appointment of a new communications director.
The new analytics team will work with information technology and agency management to do advanced statistical research.
It will be folded into to the agency's division of programs and risk reduction, which will be headed by Margie Phelps.
As executive director of that division, Phelps will oversee the central office re-entry team and various specialists throughout the correctional system.
