Minority residents in Wyandotte County are bordering on "electoral irrelevance" if they're moved into the neighboring 2nd Congressional District under new election boundaries on trial this week, a political expert testified Tuesday.

University of Kansas political scientist Patrick Miller, testifying as an expert for the plaintiffs, explained how the voting strength of minority voters in Wyandotte County would be watered down if they're moved into the more Republican-friendly 2nd District.
