Controversial Democratic upstart Aaron Coleman is staging an upset of veteran Democratic state Rep. Stan Frownfelter in Wyandotte County.
Coleman, who was recently vilified on social media for jokes he made about a talk show host dying of COVID-19, was leading Frownfelter by one vote Tuesday night.
Unofficial results showed Coleman leading Frownfelter 768-767, although there are provisional ballots and mail-in ballots to be counted.
There are potentially about 100,000 mail-in ballots that have been sent out but not returned, leaving the possibility that any close races could still be up in the air.
