Former Republican congressional candidate Sara Hart Weir on Friday bowed out of the race for Kansas treasurer, leaving state Sen. Caryn Tyson and state Rep. Steven Johnson to fight it out for the Republican nomination.
"I would like to thank my friends, family, and supporters for standing by my side during my campaign for state treasurer," Weir said in a statement.
"I continue to believe our state is being poorly served by the current Laura Kelly appointed occupant, but unfortunately my current work has prevented me from dedicating sufficient time to run the campaign I expect of myself," she said . . .
