Bill limits timing of local bond elections; senator says governments trying to ensure outcomes

A bill limiting cities and school districts to holding bond elections either in the primary or general election is running into criticism after passing the Senate with less than a veto-proof majority Wednesday.

The Senate agreed to amend a bill that originally clarified that special elections could be held three times a year - the Tuesday following the first Monday in April or on the same day as a general or primary election.
