Auditors: KHP followed procedures for officers’ dismissal

Legislative auditors concluded that the Kansas Highway Patrol adhered to state law when it fired two officers last summer.

The auditors conducted an abbreviated 100-hour audit that examined the dismissals of Majs. Scott Harrington and Josh Kellerman last July 23.

It is believed to be the first time in at least 25 years that a Highway Patrol major has been dismissed, the auditors said.
