A Florida couple has been convicted of election crimes stemming from a petition drive to secure enough signatures to create the No Labels Party three years ago.
Attorney General Kris Kobach said George Edward Andrews and Jamie Louise Johnson, both of Dade City, Florida, pleaded guilty in Johnson County District Court to election perjury and election forgery.
They were accused of fraudulently collecting signatures in a petition drive to get the No Labels movement qualified as a political party in Kansas.
Each received a controlling sentence of 14 months in prison, which was suspended They were placed on 18 months . . .
