Appeals court refuses to toss ethics subpoena; constitutional issues still in question

A state appeals court on Friday decided against dismissing a subpoena issued as part of a wide-ranging campaign finance investigation that focuses on contributions made to the state Republican Party.

A three-judge panel ruled against a request to strike the subpoenas issued to former Johnson County Republican Party Chair Fabian Shepard and Cheryl Reynolds, former chair of the Shawnee County Republican Party.
