Gov. Laura Kelly on Monday announced the election results for the new state license plate after a previous proposed plate was shelved amid a public uproar.
With nearly 270,000 votes cast from all 105 counties, Kansans picked a design featuring the Kansas Statehouse dome within a cutout of the state and a yellow, white and blue gradient background. It received more than 140,000, or 53%, of the total votes.
