Aetna Better Health is protesting how contracts were awarded to manage the state's Medicaid program, alleging there was a conflict of interest in the process and the state used arbitrary criteria for evaluating the proposals.
The managed care company is asking the state to cancel the award of one of the three managed KanCare contracts to a team that includes Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City.
