Saying it wants to "safeguard the accountability, trust, and fairness in one of the largest procurements" in Kansas history, Aetna for Better Health has gone to court challenging the state's awarding of the contracts to manage its $4 billion Medicaid program.
Aetna has filed a lawsuit in Shawnee County District Court challenging the state's decision to go with Sunflower Health Plan and UnitedHealthcare as well as a coalition that included Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City.
The company is asking a judge to consider several options.
