(Updated to include comments from Schwab's announcement and insurance commissioner)
Republican Secretary of State Scott Schwab announced Friday morning that he will forge ahead in the Kansas governor's race despite President Donald Trump's endorsement of Senate President Ty Masterson.
He announced that he picked Republican state Rep. Ken Rahjes of Agra as his running mate. Rahjes had filed for secretary of state but said Friday he was withdrawing.
Rahjes' decision leaves Republican state Rep. Pat Proctor of Leavenworth as the only GOP candidate running for secretary of state with the filing deadline set for June 1.
