Beneficient executives say they will comply with any inquiry state lawmakers undertake into the actions of the company's founder and former chief executive officer who was found guilty last week on fraud-related charges stemming from a plot to enrich himself to pay for an opulent lifestyle.
In a statement issued late Thursday, the company said evidence at trial showed that Brad Heppner "acted solely on behalf of his family office to perpetrate this scheme through a shell company he controlled."
