The Legislature on Thursday sent to the governor a bill that would end no-excuse advance mail balloting in Kansas if the courts strike down a law requiring election officials to confirm signatures on advanced mail ballots.
The House and the Senate voted to approve a bill that potentially sets up a legal dilemma for plaintiffs in an ongoing lawsuit over signature requirements.
The House voted 78-45 to pass the bill, six votes short of the 84 need . . .
