Will Kobach’s primary loss help GOP statehouse candidates?

Republican statehouse candidates were freed from a Kris Kobach U.S. Senate candidacy Tuesday.

Not only were national Republicans worried that Kobach could cost them a U.S. Senate seat, there was an abiding concern he could cost them seats at the state Capitol.

Two years ago in the governor's race, Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly turned some legislative seats blue that had been consistently red before.

Some of that's blamed on Kobach and his brand of politics that prompted establishment Republicans to spend millions to end his U.S. Senate bid.

Now, Republicans are breathing a little easier . . .
