Senate President Susan Wagle on Monday dismissed false reports that she was pulling out of the race for the U.S. Senate.
"For one of her cowardly opponents to push this fake news story is a sign of desperation," campaign spokesman Matt Beynon said in a statement.
"Those cowards know Susan Wagle has the trusted conservative record and track record of winning that sets her apart from the field," he said.
Beynon attributed the rumor to a "fake" Associated Press news alert that said Wagle was withdrawing.
