The Republican primary for Kansas treasurer grew a little wider Friday afternoon as state Rep. Steven Johnson lengthened his lead over state Sen. Caryn Tyson.
As of 8 a.m., Johnson's lead over Tyson stood at 149 votes, 215,058 to 214,919.
But new vote totals reported after 12:30 p.m. showed Johnson was now up by 396 votes, 215,509 to 215,113. At 5 p.m., the difference was 381 votes.
There are believed to be 20,000 provisional ballots that need to be reviewed, including between 6,000 . . .
