Democratic Topeka Mayor Michelle De La Isla took a step toward a race for Congress last week when she mailed a letter introducing herself to the 2nd District.
De La Isla sent out a letter dated Dec. 23 paired with a one-sheet flier laying out her background in what she described as way of testing support for a potential congressional race.
"I just wanted to hear from people," she said in an interview over the weekend. "It was just an introduction."
