State’s top municipal lobbyist steps down

Erik Sartorius has stepped down from his post as the top lobbyist for cities in Kansas.

The League of Kansas Municipalities announced Friday morning that Sartorius had resigned effective Aug. 1.

John Deardoff, former Hutchinson city manager and former League of Kansas Municipalities board president and board member, will serve as interim executive director.

Sartorius had been with the league since 2014, working to reestablish its partnerships with local and statewide elected leaders by advocating for local communities in the statehouse.
