State universities report third consecutive year of enrollment growth

State universities are reporting an enrollment increase for the third consecutive year, highlighted by Emporia State ending a five-year skid and recording the largest percentage increase in student headcount for 2025.

The state's universities, including the University of Kansas, Kansas State, Wichita State, Fort Hays State and Emporia, saw their student head count increase by 2.5% for this fall compared to last year.

The Board of Regents announced that the headcount increased by 2,338 students at state universities and by about 500 students - not quite . . .
