Kansas taxpayers owe the state more than $300 million in delinquent taxes, according to a new report.
State data show that total tax debt — most of it personal income taxes — is at $337 million as of February.
The Department of Revenue indicated Thursday they had 199,000 accounts — businesses and individuals — owing money to the state in one year. About 22,000 of those were sent to collections.
The numbers were revealed as part of the Revenue Department's request to shorten the amount of time it has to wait to send delinquent taxes for collection.
