The Kansas State Rifle Association on Wednesday handed out its endorsements, agreeing to back Republican Gov. Jeff Colyer and Secretary of State Kris Kobach in the Republican primary for governor.
The dual endorsement was different from the National Rifle Association, which backed Colyer, and the Gun Owners of America, which supported Kobach.
The NRA has a standing policy of endorsing gun-friendly incumbents. The rifle association is the Kansas affiliate of the NRA and works closely with the group to monitor the Kansas political scene.
