State opens defense of election law at federal appeals court

The legal battle over the constitutionality of a 2021 election law that barred the mailing of advanced ballot applications with personalized voter information is getting underway at the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Republican Attorney General Kris Kobach recently filed his opening brief, arguing that the law does not violate the constitutional right to free speech and association, the grounds for which U.S. District Judge Kathryn Vratil SSJ
