Spending for abortion amendment surpasses $500,000

The coalition supporting a constitutional amendment on abortion launched its first television ad, which brings broadcast spending for the measure to more than a half million dollars.

The national political ad tracking firm AdImpact reports that two groups supporting the amendment - the education arm of Kansans for Life and the Value Them Both coalition - have spent $575,000 on broadcast ads as of Tuesday.

The Value Them Both group has spent $208,592, while KFL has spent $366,591 with more than half going into the Wichita market, according to ADImpact.

Value Them Both's spending is concentrated in Wichita . . .
