Senate President Ty Masterson on Thursday called a meeting of state legislative leaders to discuss the possibility of extending the sunset of tax incentives to lure the Chiefs and Royals to the Kansas side of the state line.
The decision to call a meeting comes after the Legislative Coordinating Council - made up of top legislative leaders - received a letter from Chiefs President Mark Donovan asking that the June 30 deadline be extended.
Donovan requested the deadline be extended in light of "substantial progress" the Chiefs have made in discussions with the administration.
