Here's a look at how Gov. Laura Kelly, former Attorney General Derek Schmidt, state Sen. Dennis Pyle and Libertarian candidate Seth Cordell performed in each of the Senate districts. We got some invaluable aid from Wichita State University political scientist Brian Amos in helping us crunch these numbers. The results are for the new districts drawn last year that will start with the 2024 Senate races. It is why you will see some districts listed as "open" and others with two incumbent senators.
A few observations:
Kelly won 21 Senate districts, including eight represented by Republicans
Schmidt won 19 . . .
