Senate committee places limits on ballot drop boxes

A Senate committee on Thursday agreed to place limits on advanced ballot drop boxes while ending the three-day grace period for mail-in ballots to arrive at election offices.

The Senate Federal and State Affairs Committee agreed to limit each county to one ballot drop box unless they have more than 30,000 registered voters, which was reduced from 60,000 as originally proposed.

There are 95 counties that have fewer than 30,000 voters in Kansas, according to data . . .
