Gov. Laura Kelly on Wednesday said she would delay the opening of elementary and secondary schools as the state continues to set new records for the growing number of COVID-19 cases.
Kelly said she would sign an executive order next Monday that would delay the opening of schools until after Labor Day weekend as the state grapples with the spread of the infection.
Kelly will sign an executive order next week calling for schools to not to reopen until Sept. 9 at the earliest so they have time to adopt health protocols and secure supplies needed to keep students . . .
