Republican Attorney General Derek Schmidt's campaign for governor announced Monday night it had raised about $707,000 this year, less than half of what Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly announced earlier in the day.
The campaign said its contributions for the cycle now total more than $2.3 million as Schmidt and Kelly start down the home stretch in the campaign after the primary election.
The campaign said it would report having about $1.5 million in cash on hand.
