Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt made it official on Monday: He's not running for the U.S. Senate.
In an email sent out shortly after 12:30 p.m., Schmidt ended any speculation about his political future.
"After reflecting since Sen. Roberts announced his retirement earlier this year, I have reaffirmed my belief that right now it is possible to accomplish more for Kansas here at home rather than in Washington, D.C.," Schmidt said.
