Residency objection filed against Republican House candidate

Democrats are challenging the residency of a Republican House candidate and the wife of  Sedgwick County Commissioner Jim Howell.

Democratic state Rep. Vic Miller has filed an objection to the candidacy of Leah Howell, who is running for the House District 82 seat against Democrat Misti Hobbs.

Miller contends in his filing that Howell was not a resident of House District 82 at the time she filed to run for office.

Miller, who has challenged Republican candidacies in the past over residency questions, declined to provide any other details of the nature of the complaint.
