Kelly, Schmidt differ on pandemic response at forum


Appearing at their first forum together, Gov. Laura Kelly and Republican challenger Derek Schmidt offered differing ideas about how the pandemic should have been approached when it swept into the state in 2020.

Kelly and Attorney General Schmidt took the stage in one-on-one "conversations" Wednesday night with Alan Cobb, president and CEO of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce at an event attended by several hundred people the Embassy Suites in Olathe.

The forum, which did not include independent candidate state Sen. Dennis Pyle, came just days before Kelly and Schmidt are set to square off at the Kansas . . .
