The acrimony in the race for the Republican nomination for governor heightened Tuesday with a new ad ripping into Johnson County businessman Philip Sarnecki while a former state senator announced that he had filed an ethics complaint against Senate President Ty Masterson.
Masterson and Sarnecki have been trading shots in recent weeks as they scramble to win support from Republican primary voters who are already casting ballots in the lead up to the Aug. 4 primary.
They have been exchanging shots at each other for weeks, marked by one debate where Masterson referred to Sarnecki as an "angry elf."
