Veteran Republican lawmaker Richard Proehl is retiring after this session, opening the door for former state Sen. Dan Goddard to make a comeback.
Proehl, the chair of the House transportation committee, said Wednesday night that he doesn't plan to seek a ninth term in the Legislature representing House District 7.
The Parsons lawmaker said he turns 78 this fall, meaning he would be 80 by the time his next term ended.
