Republican Senate President Ty Masterson and Democratic state Sen. Cindy Holscher emerged from bruising primaries to capture their party's nomination on Tuesday for governor.
Shortly after 8 p.m., The Associated Press called the race for the Andover lawmaker, who was leading a field of seven candidates in a Republican primary race that cost at least $16 million in broadcast and digital advertising alone.
And about an hour later, The AP called the race for Holscher who tapped into the progressive wing . . .
