State election officials on Friday cleared the way for independent Greg Orman to get on the general election ballot in the governor's race.

State elections director Bryan Caskey posted a tweet shortly before 2 p.m. saying the petitions submitted by Orman and his running mate, state Sen. John Doll, are sufficient to get on the general election ballot.

"Despite the best efforts of both parties to avoid electoral accountability by preventing anyone but their own from accessing the ballot, Sen. Doll and I will give Kansas . . .
