NRA bows out of attorney general’s race

The National Rifle Association elected not to endorse in the Republican primary for attorney general featuring former Secretary of State Kris Kobach, state Sen. Kellie Warren and former federal prosecutor Tony Mattivi.

It was the third time in as many primary elections that Kobach - who owns a stake in a gun manufacturer and is a staunch gun rights supporter - has not gained the NRA's endorsement.

The NRA gave Kobach and Warren each an A grade while giving Mattivi an AQ grade.

A candidate who receives an A grade is considered a "solidly pro-gun candidate who supports the NRA . . .
