Kansas lawyers have elected Gloria Farha Flentje as the new chair of the committee that screens candidates for the Kansas Supreme Court.
Flentje, a longtime Kansas lawyer who has represented Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems, defeated Wichita lawyer Gary Ayers to chair the Supreme Court Nominating Commission.
Flentje defeated Ayers 963-535.
She will replace Wichita lawyer Mike Stout, whose term expires this year.
