A leading national opponent of so-called ESG investing principles joined the state retirement system board on Friday.
The Kansas Public Retirement System Board swore in Derek Kreifels as its newest member.
Kreifels is co-founder and chief executive officer of the State Financial Officers Foundation, which has been one of the leading opponents of governments using environmental, social and governance principles in making investing decisions.
Last year, the group started a campaign against ESG called
