Senate President Ty Masterson, an anticipated candidate for Kansas governor, is planning a "special announcement" on Sunday in Wichita about the future of the state.
A text message obtained by the Sunflower State Journal doesn't go into specifics about the announcement, but word has been circulating broadly in political circles that Masterson would announce his candidacy for governor by July 21.
An event is planned from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Clemens Hangar Event Space in Wichita. An ice cream truck will be at the event, and those who have been invited to the event . . .
