The Kansas Livestock Association on Wednesday handed its former president his first major endorsement in the race in the Kansas 2nd Congressional District.
The KLA backed Shawn Tiffany over former Attorney General Derek Schmidt and Jeff Kahrs, a top adviser to U.S. Rep. Jake LaTurner, in the Republican primary for the 2nd District.
Tiffany, a feedlot owner, lost out on a major agricultural endorsement earlier in the week when the Kansas Farm Bureau endorsed Schmidt.
"Shawn is the only candidate in the race who is an actual farmer, rancher and cattle feeder," said aid Matt Teagarden, chief executive officer . . .
