Legislature writes health care executive order into law

The Kansas Legislature on Thursday agreed to write into law the governor's executive orders intended to relieve hospitals and nursing homes struggling with staffing shortages as COVID-19 rages again with the spread of a new variant.

The House and Senate overwhelmingly passed a bill giving hospitals and nursing homes more flexibility to use staffers to treat and test Kansans who are coming down with COVID-19 in increasing numbers.

The bill passed the Senate on SSJ
