The secretary of state is urging the Legislature to pass a law that would limit online voter registration to government-owned websites or sites meeting certain security standards.

As the general counsel for Secretary of State Scott Schwab, Clay Barker said the intent of the bill is not to eliminate third-party voter registration websites such as ksvotes.org.
