Kansas Democratic Party Chair Jeanna Repass is running for vice chair of the National Democratic Committee, saying the national party needs to stop viewing Kansas as a "fly-over state."

"This is about Kansas," Repass said in an interview. "This is about being the chair of a state that is fighting and scrapping for the Democratic Party to pay attention.

"There is no reason we should have to fight this hard," Repass said.

"Kansas stepped up and gave the whole country hope on Aug. 2, 2022," Repass said, alluding to the abortion amendment that was defeated two years ago.
