Leading lawmakers are considering a proposal to boost the amount of money that legislators spend on sending newsletters to their constituents.
The Legislative Coordinating Council on Wednesday agreed to prepare a proposal that would more than double the money spent on printing and postage for newsletters.
The proposal would increase the amount of printing and postage combined to $6,000 for House members and $18,000 for Senators.
The increase would start July 1, 2024, the start of fiscal year 2025.
House members now receive $2,439 for mailings, which breaks down separately to $1,000 for printing and $1 . . .
