Kubic returning to ACLU of Kansas

Micah Kubic, who built the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas into an influential player in state politics, is returning to the Sunflower State after leaving the organization in 2018.

The ACLU announced Tuesday that Kubic would be returning to Kansas on Jan. 24 after serving as executive director of the ACLU affiliate in Florida.

Kubic takes over for Nadine Johnson, who left quietly in July without much fanfare.

Vanessa Phipps, a human relations and leadership expert has served as interim director since Johnson’s departure.
